How to add an icon to an area? #
On default you get areas with a blank icon. To change the icon of an area go into Edit Mode by clicking the three dots above the areas.
A new row will appear where you can edit areas. You can also drag the areas the way you want.
While editing you get a pop-up which let you choose the icon and the floor.
How to sort areas by floor? #
To change the floor of an area go into Edit Mode by clicking the three dots above the areas.

How to add weather/alarm/clock? #
Use the little gear icon above the header to get to Dwains Dashboard General Settings.
Here you can choose weather and alarm entities. You can also enable/disable the clock.
How to change the language? #
There is no language settings. Translation are builtin and depend on your system language. So if you see the wrong language there is no translation for your language. Current supported languages are:
- english
- dutch
- french
- german
- swedish
How to add something to favorites? #
You can add entities to your favorites. Go into Edit Mode. Choose the entity you want to make a favorite and click on three dots. Choose add to favorites.
Card type and look will be the same in favorites as in area/device view.
How to set the order of areas? #
Go into Edit mode above areas. You can drag the areas with the cross.
How to add a startpage/homepage? #
For now there is no real start or homepage. But you can add more areas in HA. This setting is under Configuration > Devices & Services > Areas.
Add a new area with the name you want and drag it to the first place in area view.
How to add custom cards? #
Go into Edit Mode.
A new window will appear.
Click to add a card.
Here you can add a custom card, HA default cards with the first option Lovelace Card.
You can also add blueprints from here.
How to change device icons? #
Go to device tab and go into Edit Mode. Click on Edit and choose your icon.
How to add more pages? #
Go to More Page. Click on the three dots. Then click on Create new more page.
From here you can add your own custom cards or default HA cards. You can also choose a DD3 Page Blueprint.
How to change entity settings? #
Go into Edit Mode and select the entity you want to change. Click on entity settings.
From here you can change the size of the card and name of the entity.
How to change the card of an entity? #
Go into Edit Mode and select the entity you want to change. Click on Entity card.
Here you can choose between a custom card or default HA card. You can also use DD3 Card Blueprints here.
From here you can easily change the card type. So in just four clicks you can go from this:

The easiest way is to use a replace card blueprint but you can use every blueprint or card you want.
How to add pop-up cards? #
Go into Edit Mode and select the entity you want to change. Click on Popup card.
Here you can choose between a custom card or default HA card. You can also use DD3 Card Blueprints here.
The default popup is always the “more-info” view. But you can change it to show whatever you want.
For example you can add a popup card to your person entity. So clicking on your person entity can show something like this:
How to hide/disable entities? #
Go into Edit Mode and select the entity you want to change. Click on hide/disable entity in DD.
Hidden or disabled entities will show on the bottom page when you are in edit mode. You can unhide or enable entities if you accidently disabled/hid them.
The difference between hiding and disabling is that hidden entities are still used in DD3. For example if you hide temperature or humidity entities they still are used for temperature or humidity calculation. Disabling this will completely disable the calculation and the entity wont show.
How to change width of cards? #
Go into Edit Mode and select the entity you want to change. Click on entity settings or for custom cards click on Edit.
From here you can change the size of the card.
Default size is for small devices like smartphones or tablets.
How to change the device page? #
The device page shows all entity domains you have in your Home Assistant setup. You can drag the devices the way you want when you are in Edit Mode.
From Edit Mode you can also change the icons or add it to the main navigation bar
You will see all devices of an entity domain (like media player or switch). You can group them by rooms if you want. You can also edit cards or blueprints into device views like you can do in areas.
Hiding/Disabling works also from here because these states work for whole DD3. You can unhide/enable these entities from here, too.
Can i change the entity cards/popup cards for a whole domain? #
Yes you can. Go to the device view and go into Edit Mode. Click the three dots of the domain you want to change.
Here you can choose between the entity cards or popup cards for a whole domain.
You can choose between cards of the “replace card” type.
These will change the entity/popup for every light in DD3. But you can edit every domain you want.
